Trying to pass off any old desk as a Computer Desk can be a disaster in the office place. This is because offices must provide for the safety of all employees. Ergonomics must be considered when providing employees with furniture. If employees are using equipment that was not designed for a certain task, and gets hurt, then the company could be held liable. By definition, computer desks fall under the category of equipment.
